So short stories didn’t quite take off like we were hoping before the whole “Occupy” thing, but we’re reviving it! Here is another fiction work from another young author, Dr. Luigi.

Ferhad Ammad was at his own wedding reception in the coat room with his pants still around his ankles. If he took two steps to the left he would be able to see his virginal bride still on the dance floor doing a mix of the electric slide and a similar dance from the Old Country. Beside him stood his mistress, Marissa Hilton, adjusting her dress and trying to erase the obvious signs of what just took place.
“I hope you can still perform tonight,” said Hilton. “Of course, if she really is a virgin she won’t know the difference or she’ll blame herself.”
Ammad couldn’t believe what he had done. He hadn’t been married for five hours and it had been less than 24 since he’d last been with Hilton. He almost didn’t notice when Hilton handed him something which he hastily stuffed into his pocket. Ammad proceeded to get very drunk that night and passed out immediately upon being alone with his bride, Lana Yousef. So nervous was he about his deceit that he did not consummate his marriage until the last night of his honeymoon and by then his wife had a very noticeable complex about her desirability.
“I found this in your pocket when I was returning your tuxedo,” said Yousef. “What is this?”
Ammad immediately recognized it as the piece of paper Hilton had given him. It read:
I will require a monthly allowance of $2,500 plus all expenses related to visitation. You will make yourself available on four dates of the year of my choosing with at least two week’s notice. You will reserve a holiday of my choosing. Reasonable accommodations can be made for your schedule at the hospital. A first time fee of $5,000 will be charged for failure to meet any of the above and a $10,000 fee after that. Interest is compiled monthly at 11%.

Hopefully our short story selections won’t follow in the footsteps of our movies. Without further ado I present: “The Roommate” by Angsty Kong.

The Roommate
Matt Finer was on death row for the murder of his roommate Michelle Row. A last minute stay of execution had been denied. Finer was a lawyer and had tried, unsuccessfully, to avoid execution due to a mental illness. The guards didn’t buy it, just another trick to keep privileged pricks like Finer out of the hot seat and in minimum-security resorts. Matt Finer was guilty and he deserved to die. He wouldn’t even give Row’s family the location of the body. It was widely believed that unwillingness contributed to his sentence more than any other factor.
Up to this point, Finer had been about as calm and coherent as anyone facing execution, particularly a person who ought to have a lot of regrets. But when the guards came for him he was wide-eyed and wild, already hoarse from screaming and bleeding all over his face from scratching himself, like he tried to claw his own eyes out. Experienced guards who’d led hulking beasts such as ex-football players, ex-military and hired killers down the Green Mile were having trouble with a 5’-8” dumpy kid who five years ago had been tossing a Frisbee around his ivy-league campus.
The guards began to strap Finer into place and he grew even wilder. It was more than just fear. He’d seen something behind the glass where the family waited to view his execution. Standard procedure was to keep the curtain pulled until the inmate was strapped in, but Finer’s antics had caused them to run behind schedule. The crowd was restless.
“I wish executions had previews,” remarked one guard and his colleagues nodded.
Once everything was prepared Finer grew calm. He said several times he had something to say and the warden ensured him he’d be permitted to speak before the execution. When the warden asked him if he had anything to say Finer said, after visible deliberation,
“I should have watched the end of the tape,” then nodded when asked if he was finished.

Ok, so we are still working out the kinks here. Our admin helped us make the video and loaned us his xtranormal account and free points…and I am trying to post the link. Later, I will try and load the survey software. This first movie is a freebie (well, all the movies are free, but here you can watch the whole thing without having to fill out the survey to see how it ends).
Let us know what you think. Sorry if it doesn’t work, but it’s a work in progress. You should also be able to view this if you friend me on facebook.
